Constantin Riccardi is a Franco-Luxembourgish violinist, conductor, and artistic director of the Agora Music Festival, a festival centered around performer-composers.
After obtaining a Master of Arts in Violin from the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2020, he decided to continue his studies in orchestral conducting and joined the 'soloist class' at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Giordano Bellincampi and Michael Schoenwandt. During his studies, he had the opportunity to conduct many of Denmark’s leading orchestras, including the Odense Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Sønderjyllands Symphony Orchestra, and also the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra in Sweden. In May 2024, he gave his debut concert with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra.
Alongside his studies, he participated in masterclasses with conductors such as Prof. Johannes Schlaefli, Sian Edwards, and Prof. Rüdiger Bohn.
As a violinist, he performs chamber music with his wife and musical partner Nora Braun, mainly in a piano trio. Together, they have performed in most of Luxembourg's venues, such as the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Festival at Bourglinster Castle, the Echternach Festival, Musek am Syrdall, as well as the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and recently at the MasMusici festival in France. As a soloist, he recently played Beethoven's Violin Concerto in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and will perform Max Bruch’s concerto no.1 in Holbæk, Denmark in November 2024.
His musical interests are vast, and he enjoys interpreting the great works of the classical repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary music, as well as "popular" music genres like tango, flamenco, and other folk music. He also has a particular fondness for film music.
Constantin was recently appointed as a violin teacher in the regional music school of Grevenmacher, Luxembourg.
His violin is an instrument by Carlo Landolfi from 1775.
